The Escape Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid are all-new for 2020. Ford was the first to bring a hybrid to the compact crossover segment with the first-gen Escape Hybrid, which debuted for the 2020 model year. With the new fourth-generation Escape, Ford reintroduces the hybrid Escape after dropping it from the lineup years ago to focus on the now-discontinued C-Max Hybrid. The new 2020 Escape features both hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, and competes with the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime as well as the Honda CR-V Hybrid.
