Ford, which originally developed the EcoSport for emerging overseas markets, decided to import the EcoSport to the United States in 2020 to meet consumer demand for small SUVs. It's based on the outgoing Fiesta, but its larger body and increased ground clearance give it improved versatility over subcompact sedans.
